A Show, Detailed Below

Tuesday, May 05, 2009

Pool closed due to tedious meme.

Firstly, congratulations to Andy Pisco and Ana who are now nuptualised. The big three days were totally ace, and now I need to make up about 20 hours from sleep from somewhere. It needs to be paid back it would appear, although moderately enjoying drowsy netherworld currently inhabited. Secondly, many thanks to the London crew who turned up to the gig and made us feel appreciated. You were marvellous and made for a great night. Loved playing, although details afterwards begin to get a bit lost towards the end. 12 Bar recommended, nice space, excellent jukebox and a decent booze selection. Tasty. Many thanks to Joe for putting us on. Thirdly, more gigs coming up soon, June, August and beyond. We're fiddling with the formula with an emphasis on set and setting as opposed to just sets. More info as we refine the ideas. Fourthly, more tunes on the way and more recording of tunes. Details of this will begin to bubble up with the gigs.

Forewarning - Piscos in London

Hello. Advance alert of a gig - further afield. We're playing the Blang! night at the 12 Bar Club, Soho on (BH) Monday 13th April. It should be a rather tasty affair. Real heavy and loaded with dynamite, as me old mate I Roy might have put it. Anyway, more info here.

In further news the new 4 piece expanded Pisco is going from strength to strength and I'd imagine a local outing will be in the offing soon.

And so onto lists as a useful device for the lazy independent music making twat to generate content:

Music Currently Being Enjoyed By Myself

1. Dock Boggs: His Folkways Years 1963-1968 (old time sinister banjo business)
2. Cluster - Zuckerzeit (classic electronic/krauty business - water torture for Pete Pisco)
3. Patrick Adams - The Best Of - (collection of alternately loopy and lush disco)
4. The Fall - Bootleg of recent Porto gig (highlight - immense version of '50 Year Old Man')
5. No Panpipes - Various - (a collection of Cumbia tunes and various other bits of contemporary South American bangers, as compiled by my mate John AKA The Breakbeat Civil Servant)

That is all for this rambly update. More news as and when it happens.

Furthermore

First and foremost, Merry Christmas.

We are not dead.

We have, however, been between homes. We have vacated Piscorp. The good news is that we now have a new home, which we will be moving into in January. Then we'll start boshing out some more stuff.

We will keep you posted.

Jesus sweet christ in a sauna

Gig on Saturday - fuck me it was hot! Yelling into microphones that seemed to work less well than one would like, sweat dripping from my nose as I threw myself into an awesome and raucous and penultimate Jimmy McLoxley, swopping obscenities with Ed about a bald git at the bar who had abused me earlier. Post Lox I was sweaty fucked, and still had a discofied In My Head to contend with, yet we all dragged ourselves through, and disappointed to miss La Folie due to kerfuckeredness we slopped off to play pool. All good though.

Onwards, to some electoral nonsense.
