Pisco Presents...The Summer Fete

Introducing something we've been planning for while - we're putting on a bi-monthly night at The Grapes where we will presenting a variety of superb acts for your listening pleasure. The first of these will be Friday August 21st . Program entitled 'The Summer Fete', featuring three bands plus 'other distractions'. A run down:
The Bands:
The Dirty Rats
Laidback jazz nutters, knocking out the sort of sozzled beats and insouciant guitar that would probably go down very well with a cucumber sandwich and sunstroke. http://www.myspace.com/thedirtyrats1
Little Robots
Appalachia via Sheffield and Newcastle. This tightly knit crew utilise traditional instrumentation such as mandolin, banjo, ukulele and violin, and employ close harmony singing to devastating effect. As you'd expect, considering many of the group met as members of Sheffield's shockingly harmonious and uplifting Opor choir, this lot are great. http://www.myspace.com/mylittlerobots
Pisco Sour Hour
Eavesdrop as Elena Ceauşescu administers one last dressing down to her husband, gawp as an unfortunate lothario views his own funeral from The Other Side, or travel to Ukraine with a delusional businessman attempting to reunite with a childhood crush. Plus more shocking vignettes from an alternative reality, set to an awkward, twitchy, poppy soundtrack. http://www.myspace.com/piscosourhour
